Porcupine

This small whimsical sculpture has been inspired by the wonders existing in marine life.  The porcupine fish has an interesting look of duality: cute but do not touch; presenting a type of tension,  As a design element it has been an interesting challenge for the artist to express in 3D both of these elements.  There is an added visual interest because of the spacing of the "spines" which give shadows when light falls on the sculpture.   Materials include papier mache, clay, wood and resin.
