The artist found a challenge in being surrounded by wool and the question: Could it possibly be used as a material for artistic endeavour?  If so, how? The balls of wool evoke for her the memory, as a child, being surrounded by enthusiastic family knitters sitting comfortably in their chairs.  The sculpture is an amusing nod to those knitters and the evocative way wool conjures up cosy, warm memories.  Further, the method of arrangement of the balls is inspired by pointillism.  In essence she has used the chair as an appropriate domestic "canvas" to create an amusing, tactile, artistic memorandum of the past.
